Convenient and secure private 5G networks: G+D is part of the 5G Smart Venue at HANNOVER MESSE 2022

[Munich] Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) will be part of the 5G Smart Venue at HANNOVER MESSE from May 30 to June 2, 2022 in Hall 7, where it will exhibit solutions that support the simple, fast and convenient deployment of 5G private networks.

The IoT (Internet of Things) is growing rapidly, largely driven by the adoption of 5G. This new technology enables a host of new use cases, for example in manufacturing or logistics. To unleash its full potential, reliable data and connectivity are essential. 5G private networks contribute to this and provide great benefits, especially for companies. By enabling them to create an ecosystem with a private 5G network, coupled with high bandwidth, high transmission speed, and low latency, businesses also enjoy high data security and data protection.

At this year’s HANNOVER MESSE, G+D will show how companies can efficiently and reliably solve the connectivity and security challenges associated with 5G and IoT. G+D will present four tangible applications:

A simple, fast and completely digital way for eSIM based devices to log in to a private or public network via a QR code using G+D’s eSIM management solution. Authorized people or devices can easily access the network by scanning a QR code. This application can be used in multiple scenarios: At HANNOVER MESSE, VITES GmbH and G+D present a jointly developed solution that enables the use of broadband communication services in the event of a disaster or crisis. To gain access to the network, users also need to scan a QR code.
An IoT asset tracking and tracing app. This solution tracks valuable goods throughout the supply chain and combines G+D’s intelligent middleware with low-power connectivity technology to maximize tracker battery life, making it an ideal sustainable solution for logistics and manufacturing industries.
Together with the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (TUK), G+D will demonstrate a use case showing how a robot switches between Siemens’ 5G autonomous network (SA) at Deutsche Messe and the public 5G network. The solution scenario is based on G+D’s eSIM management, independent of networks and can be used by all types of devices. It highlights how devices can move seamlessly between public and private networks. More information is available at the TUK demo area in hall 9, stand D51.
A management solution for global networks and protection of applications and IoT devices. IoT Suite gives IoT companies full control over their connectivity. This is one of the scalable connectivity applications from the Enterprise Network Operator Pod Group, which G+D acquired in mid-2021.
“Providing secure and stable connectivity solutions for the implementation of 5G-based business models is one of G+D’s strategic core business areas. Secure and innovative device management and SIM or eSIM management play an important role. important role here,” explains David Weinberg, Director Business Transformation in Connectivity Business at G+D. “We are excited to have the opportunity to present tangible use cases to such a large audience at HANNOVER MESSE.”

G+D will also be represented with its own keynote speech in the trade fair support programme. Sharath Muddaiah, Director of Strategic Solutions and IoT at G+D, will speak on the topic “Secure Connectivity Management is Key to Enabling Your Private Network”. The keynote will take place on June 1 at the Tech Transfer Conference Stage in Hall 2, starting at 1:30 p.m.

This is in addition to G+D being a platinum partner of the 5G Smart Venue project from mid-2021. The exhibition center will be further developed into an innovative multifunctional campus with G+D contributing its security and authentication solutions.
