Syx Sensean IT and security management provider, has launched Syxsense Companythat combines endpoint management and security and is designed to provide real-time vulnerability monitoring and remediation for any endpoint in an organization’s network.
Syxsense Enterprise’s new SaaS-based unified endpoint security and management platform aims to integrate patch management, vulnerability scanning and remediation, and mobile device management (MDM) into a single, centralized console. The goal is to help IT teams use the cloud to manage, discover, and protect all endpoints with visibility across desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices.
Detection of vulnerabilities and new devices
Today’s attackers take advantage of misconfiguration, unpatched vulnerabilities, and software updates. Security misconfiguration vulnerabilities often occur due to insecure default configuration, configuration modification side effects, or simply insecure configuration. according to a poll conducted by security firm Tripwire, more than one in four IT experts (27%) confirmed that their business had been hacked as a result of an unpatched vulnerability (the EU figure was even higher at 34%) .
Locating items that require repair can be difficult: In that same study, 59% of experts said they can detect new hardware and software on their network in a matter of hours, while many said it’s a time-consuming manual process , and 35% claimed less than half of their assets are automatically identified.
Unified solution puts it all in one place
While most endpoint solutions require multiple tools, agents and consoles to address these blended threats, Syxsense Enterprise integrates all the tools needed to keep endpoint devices up to date (patch management), enable remote management of endpoint devices (device management) and detect and fix security vulnerabilities from a single console.
“We enable control of every endpoint device on the network by providing a unified cloud solution to our customers, enabling them to instantly protect business-critical resources and streamline security operations. No more unnecessary stress [of running] reports in one program and then switch to another to fix detected vulnerabilities,” said Ashley Leonard, CEO of Syxsense, in a press release.
Syxsense Enterprise layers on a workflow automation platform called Syxsense bark. This tool replaces the need for sophisticated remediation scripts with an easy-to-use editor for designing remediation workflows.
Syxsense provides pre-built remediation procedures for active threats, as well as facilitating the process of creating workflows. This includes the ability to detect software vulnerabilities in both the operating system and third-party applications, as well as misconfigurations caused by open ports, disabled firewalls, and improper user account policies, among other things. A team can simply receive the workflow, change it to their liking, and then submit it, according to Leonard.
Improved mobile device management
The solution also overlaps with the recently introduced Syxsense solution. Mobile device management solution. In addition to the previously supported Windows, Linux, and Mac environments, this solution enables IT to manage devices running on iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Syxsense MDM includes all the necessary tools for device enrollment, inventory, and configuration management; application deployment and rollback; data containerization; and remote device lock/reset/wipe (enabling IT to remove sensitive data from lost or stolen devices).
Competing solutions include Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, Ivanti, and others.
